What is the difference between fumigated wooden pallets and non-fumigated pallets? How should we choose? Which one is more convenient to use?

Material difference

Non-fumigated wooden pallets: Made of plywood (plywood) processed by high temperature and high pressure sterilization.

Fumigated wooden pallets: Made of softwood, fir, spruce, poplar and other solid wood.

Product quality

From the quality analysis: Plywood is an artificial composite board. The original wood is cut into thin boards by slicing, and then bonded into boards by hot pressing with adhesive. It has good structural stability and corrosion resistance, toughness and not easy to break, but poor rigidity and bend resistance. Solid wood pallets are slightly better than plywood in hardness, but easy to break. So each type of pallet has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Appearance

Non-fumigated wooden pallets (plywood pallets), the top panel (top deck board) is mostly whole.

Fumigated wooden pallets (solid wood pallets) have gaps between the top deck boards, with 3-6cm gaps between each board.

Delivery time

Non-fumigated wooden pallets are relatively convenient, can save production delivery time, usually within 1-3 days to prepare, can be exported directly without any fumigation procedures. Another is not limited by time. Fumigated wooden pallets have an effective period of only 21 days.

Procurement cost

The price of non-fumigated wooden pallets will be lower than that of fumigated wooden pallets, because each wooden pallet needs to be fumigated and disinfected, and fumigation certification needs to be processed, adding some fumigation costs. Non-fumigated wooden pallets are more advantageous in cost.

Compared with fumigated wooden pallets (solid wood pallets), non-fumigated wooden pallets (plywood pallets) have the following characteristics:

1. Export without fumigation, disinfection and visa, easy and convenient entry and exit; 

2. The product has a more beautiful appearance than wooden pallets, high pressure resistance and high load capacity; 

3. It can effectively avoid the defects of traditional wooden pallets such as wood knots, insect bites, color difference, and high humidity;

4. Good water resistance, simple production process and lower cost;

5. Can replace wooden pallets with strong adaptability.
